Planned litter summer 2026

Wish has been confirmed pregnant, and we are expecting puppies around July 20th!

Wish was inseminated with Buck-Owens – or Jobu, as he was called in everyday life. Jobu was born in 1994 and lived until 2005. He was awarded in EK (open) hunting trials, was also used for hunting, and was a tracking champion (blood tracking). He was a mentally stable male who left a strong and lasting impression on the family.

I am very excited and hope this combination will produce wonderful dogs suited both for hunting and other activities, and not least that they will become great companions and family members who bring joy for many years.

This combination has a calculated inbreeding increase of 0% in Dogweb and FlatcoatData, so I hope this litter will be an important contribution to the goal of preserving as much genetic diversity as possible.

However, I would like to add that the genomic inbreeding coefficient will be much higher, as all Flatcoats descend from the same founding dogs. Today, the average genomic inbreeding level in Flatcoats is over 30%, which is far too high, so it is important that we try to keep the increase in inbreeding as low as possible.

This will be Wish’s second and final litter. I am very pleased with her first litter, from which I kept Please myself. She has only been entered in one hunting trial so far, where she received an excellent result, and she was also Junior Winner at the Norwegian Flatcoat Championship in 2024 and placed 11th in the young dog class at the Swedish Flatcoat Championship the same year. She has a litter sister who became a certified search and rescue dog at just 2.5 years old, a litter brother who is training to become a search and rescue dog, and another litter brother who is a great running companion and family dog. These are the puppies shown at the very bottom of this page.

I am really hoping for puppies from this combination. I very much hope to keep a puppy from Wish again, as I am so happy with her first litter – and Wish proved to be an excellent mother to her puppies.

Planned litter early 2027

We are also planning a litter from Please in early 2027.

For Please, we have chosen the lovely Coatfloats Mio, who lives in Sweden. He has an attractive pedigree with many excellent dogs behind him, and he himself is an incredibly charming and well-balanced dog – and exactly the size I love, in other words not very large at around 28 kg. Mio is an officially certified narcotics detection dog (civil service). He has completed MH (Mental Description Test), FBR (retriever function assessment), and he has also passed an approved tracking test. In addition, he has received some hunting training, and he is fast with spontaneous retrieves, quick returns, and excellent deliveries. In everyday life he is a steady and confident dog, and through his work as a detection dog he shows both strong nerve stability and an outstanding work ethic. This litter has a calculated inbreeding increase of 0.6% in FlatcoatData.

This will be Please’s first litter. I am very excited to see what this combination may produce. Please is a fantastic dog in everyday life, in hunting, and in training, and I was very impressed with Mio when I met him – I could easily have taken him home with me.

We are, of course, planning to keep a puppy from this combination as well.
